Lagos - One of the nation’s renowned actors, Ramsey Noah, on Thursday decried the dearth of cinema houses in the nation.
Noah said in Lagos that this had retarded the growth of the movie industry.
Noah
said this had contributed to the
level of poverty and unemployment
which has made it impossible for the entertainment sector to thrive.
He said that cinema houses should be built to address societal ills and boost the nation’s economy.
“When
we have a cinema house in each of the 774 local government areas in the
country, a good number of Nigerians will no longer battle with
unemployment.
“Poverty will equally be a thing of the past and the entertainment industry will experience dramatic improvement.
“Every local government must have a viewing centre… to further boost the entertainment industry.
