NSE index down 0.91% as Oando, Nigerian Breweries, Unilever shed weight

nse-screenEquity transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) returned to a bearish position as the All-Share Index depreciated 0.91 per cent 269.23 points to close at 29,177.72 points against 50.64 points gained yesterday at 29,446.95 points.
The market capitalization dropped N92.5 billion to close at
N10.13 trillion against N17.4 billion gained yesterday to close at N10.120 trillion.
Price movement on the Equity board showed that Berger paints Plc led 17 gainers with a 4.94 per cent or 46 kobo gain to close at N9.77 per share, followed by Fidson healthcare Plc which added 4.92 per cent or 16 kobo to close at N3.41 per share, while UBCAP Plc increased 4.76 per cent or 6 kobo to close at N1.32 per share.
Skye Bank Plc appreciated 4.74 per cent or 9 kobo to close at N1.99 per share, while RT Briscoe Plc grew 3.92 per cent or 2 kobo to close at 53 kobo per share.
Conversely, Oando Plc led 17 equity losers with a loss of 9.62 per cent or 64 kobo to close at N6.01 per share, followed by Nigerian Breweries which lost 5.07 per cent or N7.31 kobo to close at N136.85 per share, while Unilever Plc dropped 4.99 per cent or N2.03 to close at N38.68 per share.
Unity Bank Plc lost 4.90 per cent or 7 kobo to close at N1.36 per share while Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc dropped 4.83 per cent or 96 kobo to close at N18.91 per share.

In all, a total of 206.02 million shares worth N3.4 billion were exchanged by investors in 2,773 deals against 257.7 million shares worth N2.8 billion exchanged by investors in 2,882 deals yesterday
